Just swung by as of Jan 15, 2023. It's still closed and doesn't look open at all. The website does looked revamped and says they're open but phone number don't work either. I miss this place. Hopefully they open up again

OMG Finally. I was passing by on my way to Times and what do ya know, Sanoya was open!! Made a quick stop and its mush cleaner than before. Also a brand new paint job. Down to it, had the chicken katsu curry rice and a side of gyoza. Just as yummy as I remember. Wouldn't have been a complete meal without a Hot Sauce Yakisoba. Always the same , always yummy. I guess Covid is finally over.

Food was great and so was the service! Took a bit to get water and our order because there was only one server and a full house.

Went on Friday around 1230 pm. Take out lunch. Dine in just started today, 06/05/20. Few tables taken. Very reasonable prices. Good portions. Free parking in back lot. Look for Sanoya marked stalls. Friendly service/staff. Ordered: Tan Tan ramen Won ton ramen Gyoza - 20 pieces, Includes sauce Called in order. Take at least 15-20 minutes. Everything good taste, fresh. Note: noodles and soup are packed separately. Highly recommend.

Would I go back: HECK YEAH! Food: Mini set - 4/5 - How can you say no to carbs!!!! A mini ramen and a mini beef curry...it's the best of both worlds. Just enough of each to make my tummy satisfied. I usually crave this when I come to Oahu. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3/5 - It kind of reminds me of a cafeteria style place. Sometimes the tables aren't bussed cause it seems like there are only a couple people on staff. It's a casual setting.

When someone says "tucked away" you often think of someplace hidden, maybe down a dark alley that only the daring or locals go to. Sanoya Ramen is kind of like this but hidden in plain sight as well. It sits on the corner of King St and Hauoli St, right across from Times Supermarket and American Savings Bank. The sign facing oncoming traffic is unassuming and all in Japanese. King St is one way and goes EastBound. Yet if you face the sign looking Westbound, against traffic, the sign is in English. Hence the analogy that began this review. Sanoya Ramen is a hidden local Japanese restaurant that isn't centered around just ramen. The menu has its fair share of ramen combinations. But tucked into the mix are teiahoku sets like tonkatsu, chicken katsu and the like. In the day, this place used to be the go-to place for katsu-curry. Now we are talking 30+ years ago when there were very few curry houses, and much less ramen shops. But nowadays, Sanoya is known for being a local restaurant that has stood the test of time and continues to serve local Japanese comfort food. This night we had mapo tofu ramen and a chicken katsu teishoku. The mapo is one of the best in town, so if you are in the area, check that dish out. The katsu is good. Pieces are juicy and fried up fresh for your order. Parking is in back and limited so come early or come late/early morning. I believe they stay open past midnight some days.

For years this has been a go-to spot for many people including as a great late night option but this is the first time I've ever gone! I was happy to see they had a parking lot in the back of their building. It was a hot day so the air conditioned temperature was just right. Even though the place isn't a hipster modern vibe, in the day it is a very casual, chill and kid friendly restaurant. It was lunch on a Sunday afternoon and we didn't have a wait. I had a great experience and the lady was so nice and helpful and also attentive even while she prepared freshly made uncooked gyoza on the side. Our food came quickly! I ordered the black sesame paitan and added won tons because I was hungry. My friend ordered wonton ramen and we got gyoza and agedashi tofu on the side. It was delicious and a great price! Next time I come I'm ordering the same ramen!

I love this place. I probably come here like 5x a month to be honest. It's a great spot to get ramen and I crave ramen a lot. It's kind of a small hole in the wall you have to pay attention when driving on long street or you'll miss the turn. But just remember the pink wine house and that's the turn you take. The gyoza is bomb. The miso ramen is bomb. The chicken Katsu curry set is bomb. The fried rice is bomb. Ok on a real note I probably had everything on the menu like twice. Everything is amazing. There's no complaints with the food. It's really good. One down fall is that sometimes, because this place is so popular, it will get crowded and noisy. Like super loud. I usually try not to come here on those nights. Like weekends cause everyone comes here when they're drunk and hungry. It kinda sucks to be around. But I'll still give this place 5 stars cause I love it so much. Try it out.
